Pictures a plenty!

Welcome to our living room... witness the carnage that once was carpet, see the chaos that calls itself hardwood floors, wonder at the all that freakin' paint ...

So we had some one come in and take a look at the hardwoods and got (some what) bad news. It seems as thought the floors are beyond repair. Besides the woods generally unappealing looks it also has been refinished so many times in the past that it is esentially too thin to sand down any further, having said all this, it looks like we'll be laying all new flooring which will be more expensive than planned, oh well, you win some, you lose some. On a brighter note, we were also visited by a plumber who offered us very reasonable rates to get a few quick fixes done, and a landscaper who was very personable offered up some good prices and good solutions to some of our "yard issues."
